About Us

Everything you need to know about Pick Up A Kane.

Pick Up A Kane started with a hashtag — but it grew into a movement.

Back in 2022, Karl, a dedicated Nupe and lover of Kane culture, noticed that brothers were occasionally tagging their content with #PickUpAKane, but the momentum behind Kane work was fading. The tradition wasn’t gone, but it was slipping. So Karl did what true preservers of culture do — he took initiative.

Using years of personally archived Kane content, Karl launched the @pickupakane Instagram page to shine a consistent spotlight on the art of wrapping, spinning, bopping, and strolling. It quickly became a hub for both old heads and new initiates alike — a digital home for the craft and the culture. The account grew organically, fueled by content, connection, and the love of the Kane.

While the hashtag itself had been circulating since as early as 2016, Karl built a standalone platform that brought new life to it — a space with structure, purpose, and visibility. His intent was never to claim the hashtag’s creation, but to carry forward its message in a way that honored the art and those who loved it.

As the page expanded, Karl connected with two other heavyweights in the Kane community — Master Splinter, whose unmatched spinning technique set a new bar, and Master Kuiet, whose signature bop style represented the roots of the culture. They met through mutual admiration and eventually formed a brotherhood through their shared passion for the craft.

PUAK isn’t just a brand. It’s a resurgence.

A mission to preserve, teach, and uplift the soul of Kane work.
